Coil & Blower Cleaning, in practice
A blower wheel is a set of small curved blades, and when each blade carries a few millimetres of packed dust the wheel moves a fraction of the air it should. It is one of the most common causes of "the system runs constantly and the house never gets cool", and it is invisible without pulling the wheel.
The evaporator coil is wet whenever the system runs, so anything reaching it sticks and stays. A fouled coil restricts airflow, drops efficiency and gives you the musty smell people usually blame on the ducts.
Cleaning ducts and ignoring the coil is self-defeating. Every cubic foot of air the system moves afterwards passes straight over the fouled coil on its way into the newly cleaned ducts.
The condensate pan gets cleared and treated at the same time. A blocked drain line is how a coil problem turns into a ceiling stain.
